Product Manager

Location | Chicago, IL

Apply

We’re looking for a multi-talented, Chicago-based Product Manager to join our growing, cross-disciplinary and globally distributed digital product team. We’re looking for someone who loves getting into the full lifecycle of the digital product process – ideation, inception, creation, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of Scrum / Agile fundamentals, and wants to deepen their skill set while helping to elevate a powerful B2B and B2B2C financial services technology platform to consumer grade experiences.

Working with Digital Product leadership, you will manage the development and maintenance of our product stack, which is aimed at Client-facing Financial Advisors and End Client users. These products (our Advisor and Client Portals, Dashboards, and Mobile Apps) are the primary conduit of use for our platform and are therefore critical to the company’s success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Product Manager role will be a tactical one, and will come with significant independence and accountability.
  • Develop and maintain our stack with best-in-class standards by creating and executing on the product roadmap.
  • Work closely with, and coordinate across, our Executive and Business teams to identify priority work, as well partner with our Engineering team to execute key initiatives and bug fixes.
  • Identify and monitor product KPIs, deploying qual and quant methods to inform decisions, and working with a talented global team to drive platform success and innovation.
  • Balance multiple objectives, projects and goals simultaneously
  • Be a primary voice within and between our Chicago-based business, operations, and product teams and our Sofia, Bulgaria-based design and dev team
  • Balance the competing needs of the business, our stakeholders, and - above all - our users. You will use your discretion throughout the development process, ensuring that what is delivered meets the original goals and objectives of the project
  • Directly address known (and help identify unmet) customer needs throughout the development and delivery of feature/functionality concepts
  • Lead cross-functional teams through the entire product development lifecycle, identifying creative solutions for problems that arise along the way
  • Anticipate upstream and downstream impacts of the project and work with internal business groups to adjust business tools and practices in order to support new features & functionality
  • Develop supporting business cases - including financial impact and benefits statements - to support feature/functionality concepts and sell these concepts to internal audiences through persuasive oral and written presentations
  • Manage user stories as part of a delivery project framework that focuses on primary objectives, appropriate depth for iterative development, clear and specific acceptance criteria, and acknowledge dependencies
  • Own User Research and User Feedback loops, including standing up and managing both internal and external user panels
  • Own the implementation and analysis of front-end platform user analytics through Google Analytics
  • Develop test plans, monitor key metrics, and drive analytics knowledge for continual optimization of your product set

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 7+ years of product management and/or product development experience
  • Deep experience with REACT-based front-end products or similar JS frameworks
  • Strong understanding of the implementation and management of Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager for front-end digital products
  • Strong hands-on familiarity with JIRA and Slack (our SDLC tools of choice) and productivity tools like Monday
  • Strong experience executing within an MVP driven environment with rapid product release as well as Lean and/or Scrum / Agile development
  • Previous experience gathering and managing stakeholder and user panels, input, and other forms of ongoing user research
  • Proven ability for independent work in a dynamic, fast-moving workplace
  • Experience working on large and complex digital projects, with an emphasis or interest in financial services or other process-heavy or regulation-heavy sectors
  • User-centered and usability-focused problem-solving skills with a positive, hands-on approach as well as a bias towards action, results, and learning
  • A desire for collaboration and seamless work amongst internal teams such as Design, Business, Operations, and Technology, as well as external and partner vendors
  • The ability to take direction and critique as a natural part of improving work outcomes
  • Keen attention to detail and the ability to author crisp, clear documentation
  • Excellent communication, relationship, presentation and time management skills
