VP, Business Development – Southeast

Based in Chicago, IL or Remote in the Southeast

 

GeoWealth is a Chicago-based firm that offers a leading digital advisory platform, including TAMP capabilities. We deliver a comprehensive and fully integrated wealth management technology platform to professionals in the financial services industry. We are currently searching for a VP, Business Development who has a background in raising assets to join our rapidly growing team. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a positive attitude and ability to be a team player. This role to be based remotely in the Southeast or in Chicago.

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Champion and drive visibility, education, and awareness for our TAMP platform, and ultimately asset flow and market share for GeoWealth throughout the territory
  • Drive net new revenue in the territory
  • Prospect RIAs in the territory, with a heavy emphasis on finding “outsourcers.”
  • Network closely and forge relationships with partners in the territory. Partners include asset managers on the GeoWealth platform, custodians, and industry consultants.
  • Conduct demos of the GeoWealth platform frequently, requiring an in-depth understanding of the TAMP marketplace
  • Deliver impacting information, industry knowledge, and product applications via one-on-one or group meetings
  • Work closely with RIAs and understand their organization and business model to provide a detailed proposal of how GeoWealth fits within their practice
  • Build proposals to outline economics of relationship for RIAs
  • Frequent collaboration with Business Development, Marketing, Relationship Management, Investment Management, and Management
  • Team members to share information, ideas, success stories, and market intelligence
  • Communicate with RIAs about asset management needs and capabilities
  • Manage a robust pipeline with various opportunities with differing closing dates
  • Occasional attendance at industry conferences
  • Travel within the region as required based on need

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 7+ years of experience in financial services (TAMP experience preferred)
  • Deep understanding of the TAMP and advisor technology landscape
  • Relevant experience working with RIAs and outsourcers
  • Understands the nuances of the RIA marketplace across various sizes and fragmented business models
  • Experience working with the largest custodians in the RIA business
  • Comfortable with a complex sale with extended sales cycles
  • Conversant of various asset management products – Model Portfolios, SMAs, ETFs, & MFs,
  • Capable of understanding contracts at a proficient level
  • Adept at managing and reaching a targeted sales goal
  • Brings a can-do attitude each and every day
  • Resilient mindset interested in building a franchise within a budding organization
  • Operates with a high level of professionalism and accountability
  • Exemplary problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Intellectually curious
  • Series 65 (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics degree preferred)
